The Toolkit was jointly developed by the University of Cape Town (UCT) and the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) with support from the UN Environment Share the Road program and FIA Foundation.
The toolkit is designed to guide through the complete process of achieving safe and healthy mobility for children. The Planning Process section provides tools to identify the context-specific interventions needed in their community.
The toolkit has been developed for local and national governments, practitioners, and citizens as a guide to the planning, design, and implementation of interventions to improve the health and mobility of children.
The Toolkit for Child Health and Mobility in Africa seeks to provide stakeholders with practical and tailor-made interventions. The Toolkit combines a range of interventions—ranging from infrastructure design to funding and advocacy—backed by case studies drawn from around the world. The toolkit is supported by the FIA Foundation.
