Initial Risk Assessment: Tool 1 of World Vision’s Disaster Risk Reduction Toolkit. The Initial Risk Assessment Tool is to be used during the LEAP assessment (Learning through Evaluation with Accountability & Planning).
This tool aims to assist Annual Development Programme (ADP) Managers to determine the general disaster risk in the programme area, within a limited time. This understanding enables the ADP Manager to take into account the disaster risk in their programming and project development.
The tool provides a methodology to collect the information for assessment through secondary data, primarily government data, and Key Informant’s interviews (KII) of relevant government officials, NGOs working in the area, and community members.
